As Hal parachutes down to the ground, the Aerialist tells Hal that he's getting revenge for for Elke Hensen who's death he blames on the Ferris family. Telling Carol, she relates a story about a circus that was put on for the Ferris Aircraft Company in which trapeze artists Elke Hensen was killed by a freak bolt of lightning and that her lover Otto Fisher vowed revenge someday.
