Synopsis

The Saga Of Crystar A 3-page text article about creating Crystar, Moltar, the Magma Dragons, and Feldspar. The article includes character model drawings of the Magma Dragon and samples of the completed pages for 'Crystar' #1. Written by Peter Sanderson What Price Laughter! A 1-page gag cover for 'Conan The Comedian' #1. Barbarian humor at its rib-tickling best! John Buscema (long-time Conan penciller) came up with the concept. Paul Smith (X-Men penciller) rendered the interpretation. At Last It Can Be Told Dept.: Reflection In A Spider's Eye A 1-page text article that reveals the details and secrets behind the bogus Spider-Man reverse story. In the (non-existant) issue, everything was to be printed backwards. This story was in response to 'Fantastic Four' #252 which was the first sideways comic every produced. The article includes a page of Spider-Man artwork with reversed dialogue word balloons from the bogus issue. Artwork was by Don Perlin; although the fan press was told that the issue was drawn by John Romita, Jr. The entire affair began with a wisecrack made by FF's editor Tom DeFalco. Guidebook To The Cosmos A 4-page article about creating "The Official Handbook Of The Marvel Universe." The article includes artwork and photos, plus the covers of issues #2 (B-C) and #3 (C-D). Written by Peter Sanderson. On The Cover The cover of 'Marvel Age' #1 features Walt Simonson's original conception of the cover for CRYSTAR #1. The final cover was done by Bob Larkin.
