Prelude! Hulk reaches a town were a young man is being thrown from a bar. Hulk helps the guy defeat the goons. The thankful guy is Fred Sloan, who immediately becomes the giant's friend. After resting for a while at Fred's house, Hulk goes to the kitchen where Fred's girlfriend is preparing a juicy meal. The girl runs away and the police rushes in. Fred puts Jade Jaws in his truck and drives away. Meanwhile, Senators Hawk and Stivak are sent to visit Gamma Base. It seems like the government disagrees with the base's results and is thinking of closing it for good. Both senators meet Jim Wilson, one of the Hulk's best friends. Since Jim might know the giant's whereabouts, Stivak asks him to find the Hulk. Stivak also asks Doctor Sofen to join them. Stivak knows Sofen's identity as Moonstone since the Senator is the East Coast leader of the Corporation. During the journey, Stivak knocks Jim out with a gas and reveals his identity to Moonstone as "Kligger", the Corporation kingpin from the East Coast. * STORY CONTINUED In Captain America issue #230
